DSTV Premiership side Moroka Swallows FC are set to be without one of their most trusted soldiers for the most of the season after undergoing a successful operation.

Bafana Tlakusane Mthethwa is set to be out for at least six to nine months with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury after the incidence happened earlier in the year against Chippa United in Eastern Cape.

The 27-year-old workhorse underwent the operation in Sunninghill yesterday as he begins his recovery from the ACL layoff.

Mthethwa, who played an integral part in The Dube Birds’ season last term, also collected five man-of-the-match awards in his first ten games in the top division.

Swallows’ Head Coach Brandon Truter has also told this publication that Mthethwa extended his stay at the Dobsonville Stadium for another twelve months. The Beautiful Game wishes the highly-rated footballer a quick return to the turf.
