Kaitano On SSU’s Lack Of Business
Posted: 20 August 2021

Tshwane side SuperSport United have been one of the most inactive clubs in the transfer market prior to the start of the 2021/2022 DSTV Premiership season.

The capital club have only signed centre back Buhle Mkhwanazi, and The Beautiful Game asked Head Coach Kaitano Tembo on the club’s lack of business, he said to us;

“Uhm, look Karabo, I’ve always been a positive person, we always try to do well and work with what we have, irrespective of what’s happening and us bringing players in.

“You’re right, we haven’t really been active in the market, and I think we should focus more on this season. I think we can’t really dwell much on whose coming in or who is going, but we will be able to bring in one or two players – the players that we need.

“I think preferably we will bring someone in the heart of defence, which is our spine because we lacked a little bit in terms of experience since the departure of Clayton Daniels, but I’ve quite happy because the core, the nucleus, the spine of the team has stayed,” concluded Tembo.

United’s biggest coup yet could be the retention of duo Teboho Mokoena and mercurial playmaker Sipho Mbule in this window.
