Former Downs Stars In Chiefs’ Radar

Former Downs Stars In Chiefs’ Radar
Posted: 27 July 2021

South African Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs FC are pulling all stops in trying to sign two former Mamelodi Sundowns FC stars.

Amiens FC midfielder, Bongani Zungu is still in the country and has not left for pre-season yet, albeit being ordered to return to his club by his Head Coach.

We understand that The Phefeni Glamour Boys had already spoken to Zungu about joining the club, with the Bafana Bafana international keen on the idea. However, Chiefs had not rung his club about thrashing a deal for the box-to-box midfielder.

Another former Sundowns player in the form of Keagan Dolly, who his dad confirmed that his son’s first preference was in Europe, has been in talks with Chiefs’ hierarchy effectively since last week Tuesday, and it is looking the more likely that Dolly will join the Black and Gold in this window.

Chiefs are also looking to sign a top striker to ease the pressure off Serbian forward Samir Nurkovic, with the club initially being interested in Evidence Makgopa, who has since signed for rivals Orlando Pirates Football Club.
