Ncikazi: It’s A Buffet At Pirates
Posted: 22 July 2021
Newly-appointed Orlando Pirates Football Club’s Assistant Head Coach Mandla Ncikazi speaks of his appointment after leaving Lamontville Golden Arrows where he led them to a fourth-placed finish last season.
The well-spoken Ncikazi, passionately speaking yesterday, said;
“The name is long and maybe football-related I’m the longest football-serving servant in the country. I’ve been in football for quite some time, whether as a player… Not a very good player but a dedicated one.
“But as a Coach, I’ve worked in every division of football; whether it on the Castle regional, ABC Motsepe, NFD, and I’ve worked as an assistant in the Premier league and as a Head Coach, and now I am here. Hopefully my contribution will be enough.
“I thank Orlando Pirates for identifying me as a candidate who can assist such a big brand. Blessings as they are, they also go with burdens; the expectations are bigger at this club, this is a club that is expected to win every match, every trophy.
“I’m in a group of galaxy of stars, it’s a buffet, coming from a club where resources were not as this big. I hope to help the club achieve more,” concluded Ncikazi.
The former Arrows’ mentor will have his first assignment against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs FC in the Carling Black Label Cup on the first of next month at the Orlando Stadium.
