The Beautiful Game can exclusively confirm that Soweto giants Orlando Pirates Football Club are in the market for a new goalkeeper despite having three senior shot-stoppers at the club.
The Sea Robbers are expected to retain the services of Ghanaian international Richard Ofori and Wayne Sandilands, with the latter’s contract set to be extended for a further twelve (12) months.
However, third-choice Siyabonga Mpontshane is the most likely to be released after not featuring much for the club in the 2020/2021 campaign.
The Buccaneers had invited former Black Leopards ‘keeper King Ndlovu to train with the team, but has since left the training base and was seen going through his paces at ambitious Marumo Gallants FC on Wednesday morning.
We’ve been led to believe that Dr. Irvin Khoza’s side are on the brink of sealing a deal for one of the gloves man at one of their rivals in the form of Swallows FC or Kaizer Chiefs in the next couple of weeks.
