Pitso: We’re NOT A Welfare Here

Pitso: We’re NOT A Welfare Here
Posted: 15 July 2021

South African-born coach Pitso Mosimane, currently the Head Coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC, has told Kaizer Chiefs that it will not be a walk in the park for them if they want to lift their first-ever CAF Champions League title.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns FC mentor, ahead of their clash against The Phefeni Glamour Boys, said;

“I’m South African and I’m playing against my home team, my fellow team, it’s a team I supported when I was growing up. But at this point in time; it’s about me and my family, and my team, those come first.

“It was the same thing when I was at Mamelodi Sundowns FC and I played against SuperSport United, it’s either I want to give the medal to (Stuart) Baxter or I want to keep it, but I think you know the answer.

“It would be nice also to have another South African team witha star to be honest, like the other side. It would be a boost to have three big teams with a star, why not? But we’re not a welfare or a charitable organisation where we give stars here, you must earn it. So, Al Ahly SC want to win the tenth star, and Kaizer Chiefs want to win their first star, so we’ll see,” concluded Pitso.

The encounter will be live on the pay-television bouquet on Saturday, with kickoff at 21:H00 South African time.
