Kaizer Chiefs FC owner Ntate. Kaizer Motaung has poured a heartening remembrance to his friend, Mr. Cyril Kobus who passed on earlier in the week.
‘Chincha Guluva’, as Kaizer is affectionately known, said of the sad passing;
“Today I must say that the soccer fraternity has been really devastated by the passing away of Mr. Cyril Kobus. A very, very good friend of mine, a colleague that we started playing soccer together at school level, amateur level and even at professional level.
“And obviously at youth level, we played for different teams, and of course there came a time where we found ourselves in different areas, and found ourselves together at Orlando Pirates, and obviously the rest is history now.
“But I’d like to take this opportunity to send my sincere condolences to the family, friends and those who were close to him. There could never be a soccer history, published in South Africa, without mentioning his contribution towards the development of this beautiful game in South Africa.
“At this moment in time, I’d like to thank his family for allowing him to impart his knowledge and experience, in the name of developing football. We shared a lot together in this journey of football, but for now I’d like to send my sincere condolences to his family,” he concluded.
The Beautiful Game would like to extend it’s condolences as well to the family and friends Mr. Cyril Kobus.
