Mokeke: I Try To Win Trophies

Posted: 25 June 2021

Cape Town City FC midfielder Thato Mokeke has somewhat regained the form that made him one of the most influential footballers in the Premier Soccer League when he made his debut some ten years ago for former club SuperSport United.

The left-footed box-to-box midfielder gives The Beautiful Game an outlook on his entire football career, saying to us;

“That’s a difficult question because Uhm…for me, I would’ve have loved to have played overseas but I understand because of the injuries i had. So I had to recover from those injuries, and put myself in a good position to maybe go to the national team.

“I also had to try and win trophies with the teams I’ve played for and I also think those dreams can come true if I also put my mind to it because as a soccer player…as long as your head is in the right space and also you enjoying your football, then everything well be fine.

“The most important thing is to always enjoy your football because if you come to training and you’re not happy, it’s not going to work out for you,” concluded Mokeke.

The 30-year-old Kimberly-born will be looking to propel Cape Town City FC to challenge for honours next season with the return of former Head Coach Eric Tinkler.
