DSTV Premiership new boys TS Galaxy FC missed the top eight by a whisker after being beaten 1-0 by Kaizer Chiefs FC On the last day of the league, finishing ninth.

The club’s Head Coach, Owen Da Gama assesses how his first six months has been with The Rockets, saying to The Beautiful Game recently;

“I think it’s been a fruitful journey for me to understand and to know the strengths and weaknesses of players, and to build a relationship with them. As a technical team, we are their fathers, we are their teachers. We try to guide and help them as much as possible, at the end of the day, they are our children.

“So, we’ve tried our best to get into their minds and to try and understand their challenges, as well as their weaknesses and strengths, so we’ve learnt quite a few about them.

“I mean (Ethan) Brooks was nowhere in the picture when we started, he went to the MDC team and he just performed beyond expectations…I mean this is a player with a pedigree, I mean he has won tournaments with the national team (Junior), player of the tournament, so it was quite nice to see him stepping up.

“There is also Nation Ndlovu, who was initially in and out of the team, and we’re happy that he is settled now, and you can see the quality,” he concluded.

Da Gama also confirmed that he will be dipping into the transfer market for a couple of players to try and strengthen some positions within the squad.
