Ncikazi: We Are Thin

DSTV Premiership side Lamontville Golden Arrows finished the league campaign with an impressive 47 points from 30 games and finished fourth on the log standings.
Arrows, who used a fewer number of players right through the 2020/2021 season, suffered injuries and suspensions towards the end of the run-in, with Head Coach Mandla Ncikazi saying to The Beautiful Game;
“It’s that stage of the season where a team like ours doesn’t have a very big squad; lots of injuries, lots of suspensions. If you look at our team, we couldn’t complete a list of twenty (20), we had eighteen (18).
“I’m not complaining, that is our team. We were just unfortunate; I think we’re one the in the PSL that has used the lesser number of players in the whole season, we are number one, compared to other teams, but that is not our choice only, it’s because we don’t have a big-size squad.
“At some point, it was going to come back against us; we are proud of our players for the effort that they shown thus far,” he concluded.
The Durban-based club will be looking to bring in a couple of reinforcements in the off-season to push on from their great campaign, with a couple of players already linked to Mato Madlala’s side.
