Chiefs Qualify For Top 8, “10111’s” Reaction

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs entered into today’s match knowing that a victory was the only solution for them if they were to play top eight football next season, and boy they delivered.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys beat TS Galaxy FC 1-0 at the sunny Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, courtesy of a Samir Nurkovic goal. Arthur Zwane, the club’s interim Head Coach, said to The Beautiful Game post-match;
“Look, we came into this game knowing that it’s going to be a battle, especially in the middle of the park because we were playing against a team that wanted to be in the top eight. So it was a case of them wanting to keep us out of the top eight; they needed a point…or a win, and for us, we needed a win at all cost.
“So it was always going to be difficult; we knew they’d start four at the back to secure a point. But also, we gave out all in our last game and our energy was always going to drop, so we had to control the game in phases, and I think we did very well,” concluded Zwane.
The Amakhosi supporters will have a happy end to the season with Continental football still to come as their in the CAF Champions League semifinals.
