Huawei Explain SSU Partnership

DSTV Premiership side SuperSport United announced a groundbreaking partnership with mobile giants Huawei at their training centre in Woodmead yesterday around lunchtime.
The Beautiful Game spoke exclusively to Huawei’s Chief Technology Officer, Akhram Mohammed, who explained the deal, saying;
“So this deal with SuperSport United is a collaboration as a Tech partner and the Band 6 is the first of that. So that will be revised based on their needs, currently we’ve provided the Band 6 and it’s purely based on that one product. Until their need changes, but in terms of the collaboration, for us to consult with them see how do we constantly improve and how do we help the players perform better…it will be reviewed constantly.
When we asked him the duration of the contract, he said;
“So for now, it is a long-term partnership that we are looking at but it is not cast in stone in terms of timeframe. We don’t have a timeframe to say it’s a one year or a two year deal, we are a technology provider to them, based on their needs and dynamics, and their demands might change, so will out agreement and relationship – which we’ll take on a time to time basis,” he concluded.
Matsatsantsa players will now be donning the Huawei Band 6 watches that will help them gage their fitness levels, starting from the training grounds, matchdays and in their personal space.
