Chiefs’ Fan March Ignites Club Movement
Posted: 19 May 2021
Kaizer Chiefs supporters and fans alike marched to the club’s headquarters in Naturena last week Friday to deliver a sound and sober Memorandum, which has seemingly ignited the club into some movement.
Twenty four (24) hours post the march, The Phefeni Glamour Boys clobbered Tanzanian giants Simba SC 4-0 in the CAF Champions League first leg of the quarterfinals to put themselves in a commanding position to qualify for the last four in anticipation of the second leg this weekend.
The club further confirmed yesterday that Sao Tome and Principe International, Jardel Rodriguez Affonso Nazare is training with the team, hoping to sign a deal at the end of the season.
A source close to the club said to The Beautiful Game this morning;
“Firstly, it was really an embarrassment for a club of Chiefs’ magnitude to have fans marching to Naturena seeking the club to take steps in the right direction. The fans were really tired and disappointed because they haven’t won anything in five years.
“We saw they performed well on Saturday against that team (Simba SC), and they followed it up with inviting a player for an assessment. But that is not the end Broer (my brother), they are going to make a lot of signings at the end of this season.
“Remember the ban is coming to an end, and they are set to bring in some quality players, some we already know and some players, unfortunately will leave. Their trying to make the fans happy and also build a team that competes, so be ready for big surprises,” concluded our well-placed source.
The Beautiful Game can also confirm that the club’s board are set to sit down with the technical team and iron out a couple of issues before proceeding to the transfer market and adding more players in June.
