Mosimane: Mutual Respect For Sundowns
Posted: 17 May 2021
Former Mamelodi Sundowns FC Head Coach and current Al Ahly SC boss Pitso Mosimane exclusively reveals to The Beautiful Game why he did not celebrate the second goal Ahly scored against the Brazilians over the weekend.
Mosimane was seen reprimanding his technical team and players on the bench from celebrating, and he has explained why to us, saying;
“Ja…uhm, good to hear you Karabo…when you win, you need to keep humanity, because the day you lose, people must remember that you are humble. And by the way; this is the team I’ve played for, I’ve worn this jersey, I’ve won three trophies in a row playing in this team.
“I’ve won countless trophies as a Coach, I’ve got so many years in this club, I have big respect for the club and I’ve left thirteen trophies at the club, it means a lot to me.
“So one goal that I’ve scored against Sundowns can never make me forget who is Mamelodi Sundowns FC. They’ve really helped me where I am, but I’ve also contributed to where they are now, so we have mutual respect. So I’m not going to get carried away, whether you lose or you win, I will keep my integrity and my pride, and I’ll let my work speak for me,” concluded Mosimane.
The nine-time African Champions League winners are expected to arrive in South Africa within the next twenty four to forty eight hours (24 – 48) to start preparations for the second leg on Saturday in Pretoria.
