Kerr: We Deserved It

Englishman Dylan Kerr became the first coach in the history of South African football to qualify a club from Limpopo in any continental competition.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila beat Chippa United 1-0 yesterday to lift the Nedbank Cup Trophy, with Kerr saying to The Beautiful Game post-match;
“Well, first to qualify for the Confederations Cup… I’ve been in the Confederations Cup twice and the players have not been in that situation. It’s a fantastic tournament to be in, financially it could be a problem but once you get to the group stages, the finances will come back to the club.
“I said to the players from the start; in order to get to CAF, you’ve got to win the Cup, in order to get your bonus, you’ve got to win the trophy, that’s paramount and that’s what you do first.
“I just trust my players and I believe in my players. You know you can ask anybody in the way we talk, we work together, and if you’ve got that believe in them and the players trust you, them they’ll run through brick walls for you. And you’ve got to treat them like people and not like commodities, I’m proud of these boys,” concluded Kerr.
TTM will quickly switch their attentions to the DSTV Premiership as they play SuperSport United on Wednesday in the capital.
