DSTV Premiership side Chippa United created club history yesterday by qualifying for their first-ever cup final since their existence after winning 1-0 against Pretoria Callies in the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup.

The Chilli Boys’ interim Head Coach, Siyabulela Gwambi, who looked shell-shocked by the historic feat when we spoke to him, explained his emotions to The Beautiful Game, saying;

“I think it’s the excitement wena Karabo, there is many ways that we can show that we can be excited. Ja, I think it’s a very good entry for me, this is the second game for me in the PSL as a Head Coach, you know it’s always somebody’s ambitions so I’ve managed so far.

“The plan is to go all the way, who knows? But the plan now is to focus on the league matches, otherwise I’m so excited, thank you Sir,” he concluded.

The Port Elizabeth-based side await either reigning Nedbank Cup Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC or DSTV Premiership new boys Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivandhila in the final.
