‘Postman’ Excites Coach Mnqithi

Reigning South African Premier Soccer League Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC continued their fine run in the DSTV Premiership yesterday with their 20th unbeaten game in the league.
Sundowns, who were made to work extremely hard for their 2-1 win against Chippa United yesterday at the Seisa Dukashe Stadium, are now six points clear with two games still to play.
However, the star of the encounter was Aubrey ‘Postman’ Modiba, who arrived from cross-town rivals SuperSport United on a big money deal before the start of the campaign, and his coach Manqoba Mnqithi said of the left-back’s performance;
“One is happy with the coming back of Aubrey Modiba, he is really showing signs that now he is coming of age and deserves to play for Mamelodi Sundowns,” he concluded.
The former Transnet School of Excellence product was fouled for Sundowns’ first goal in the penalty area before Themba Mshishi Zwane converted, with Modiba again assisting on-form Peter Shalulile for their second goal, which effectively helped them win the game.
Modiba was the outright candidate and winner for the man-of-the-match accolade and will be looking to continue his form against rivals Orlando Pirates Football Club in forty eight (48) hours time in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
