Hunt Confident Ahead Of Horoya Clash
Post: 10 April 2021
Kaizer Chiefs FC go into the last game of the CAF Champions League group stage match needing a win, or at least a score-draw against Horoya FC to progress to the quarterfinals of the competition.
The club’s Head Coach, Gavin Hunt, ahead of the match tonight, says;
“Uhm, obviously both our strikers are not here, which is a big blow from that perspective, because we really don’t have a number nine to play, so we have to make another plan.
When asked of the scorching heat in Conakry, Guinea, where they’ll be playing, he said;
“Well, thank goodness it’s a 19:H00 kickoff, it would’ve been a both side of the struggle had it been a 15:H00 kickoff. So we playing at 19:H00, the humidity is still high but that’s okay.
In terms of what is needed, the former Bidvest Wits mentor said;
“Scoring a goal would put them under a huge amount of pressure because then they would need to score two. So a score-draw is the way to go but I mean football doesn’t work like that, you know, we’ll have to see. They haven’t been beaten here for a long, long time. So we’ll try and be positive, but we have to score a goal, that’s the most important thing,” concluded Hunt.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys are locked on eight points with Horoya FC in Group C, and Hunt has identified how important a clash this will be this evening.
