Mamelodi Sundowns FC continued their fine start in the 2021 CAF Champions League after dismantling Algerian side CR Belouizdad 5-1 in their second group stage match.

Sundowns’ head coach, Manqoba Mnqithi reflects on their heavy score-line victory and says;

“We knew that we are playing against a very good team, but we forced them to defend because we did feel that we have better conditions, physically, and the atmosphere suits us better because we are coming from a high altitude because we are used to playing in the afternoon and their not.

“So we wanted to push them and press them from the top, and I think it worked because they committed a very big error in the early stages of the game, and we were able to capitalise on them. But one must say, we were assisted by the red card which they got very early in the game,” he concluded.

The Brazilians boarded a flight immediately out of Tanzania to start preparations for another mammoth game against fellow group favourites TP Mazembe, with Sundowns set to arrive in Lubumbashi later today.
