McCarthy: I’m Not The Easiest Coach

KwaZulu Natal side AmaZulu FC will return to their province with four points from six after a well-earned point against Moroka Swallows and a victory over Kaizer Chiefs yesterday.
Usuthu’s head coach Benni McCarthy tells The Beautiful Game that he is not the easiest of coaches to play under, saying;
“My players have adapted to my ways of doing things you know…I’m not the easiest guy to play for because I demand and ask a lot (from his players). I want players who always work hard but I also want them to be honest with themselves because this is not a job for us.
When asked what does he mean, he said;
“I mean it’s not a job, it’s a lifetime decision, and when you do something that involves your life, you better doing it 100% every single day of your time because people out there in the street would be dying for the opportunities that we have.
“And if we don’t make the best out of the opportunities we have, then ja…So my players know that if they don’t have that attitude, that mentality, then they must go find themselves other opportunities, then their not serious about football, and they’ve taken to that and adapted, they’ve accepted,” McCarthy.
The former Bafana Bafana international is slowly turning the corner at the Sandile Zungu-owned club as their currently sixth on the PSL standings.
