Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs will face the resurgent AmaZulu FC this afternoon at the FNB Stadium when the two clubs clash in a DSTV Premiership encounter.
Chiefs’ Philane Zulu says their happy to play a football match again after their postponed CAF Champions League game against African premium club, Wydad Casablanca. Zulu says their looking forward to the Usuthu clash;
“We looking forward to the Amazulu FC game, but it’s not going to be an easy game. They were playing on Sunday, and now they have the momentum going forward and we haven’t been playing since the previous game in the Nedbank Cup (suffered a 2-1 loss against Richards Bay).
“It’s all up to us as players to keep our feet on the ground and our heads up high and continue looking forward to the next game (they face Usuthu this afternoon).
“As much as we didn’t play in the CAF Champions League, but it gave us more time to reflect on ourselves as a team, to prepare more as a team because we needed that,” concluded Zulu.
Gavin Hunt’s players will be desperate for three vital points to cancel out the disappointing loss to GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay, while Benni McCarthy’s-led club will need three points to take back to Durban after a stalemate against high-flying Moroka Swallows FC on Sunday.
