Lamontville Golden Arrows have started like a house on fire this season as they currently see themselves sitting pretty on fifth position with twenty five points from fourteen outings.

Arrows named long-time club assistant Mandla Ncikazi as the new head coach when Steve Komphela left for the bright lights of Pretoria. The well-spoken Ncikazi tells The Beautiful Game who inspires him, saying to us;

“Yes, there is quite a few…but locally Pitso is my mentor, we just spoke last night, and he was sharing his thoughts about our game and his sentiments, and I appreciate that very much, he is my mentor.

“There is quite a few, not because Pitso is at the club that he is in now. I speak to Augusto Palicious, I speak to Doctor Khumalo, I speak to the coaches that are not known by the media. So I’m that person that gets advice from a lot of people,” he concluded.

Mato Madlala’s side travel to Western Cape tomorrow to face Stellenbosch FC, with either side desperate for three points after they were both knocked out of the Nedbank Cup respectively.
