Truter: We Were Tired!

DSTV Premiership side Moroka Swallows FC walked away with a valuable point away from home against favourites Mamelodi Sundowns FC yesterday afternoon.
However, Swallows’ head coach Brandon Truter believes they could’ve got more points had they gotten a day’s rest like their opposition, citing tiredness and fatigue for their result, saying;
“I think we were really tired hey. We were tired, we can’t run away from that, it’s a fact. They had an extra day to rest and it counted in the end. But in the tiredness, we could’ve went 1-0 up, and they have the best frontline in the country and when they get a chance they punish.
“But for us, in that first half we weren’t that tired, we would’ve had a better first half because with fatigue, technique goes out of the window. But with an extra day, and an extra rest, it could’ve been a better scoreline…but second half, it was a better second half compared to the Chippa game. So second half, the boys have it their all; they played for one another, for the Birds and for the club as well,” concluded Truter.
The Dube Birds remain unbeaten alongside The Brazilians and the race is on for both clubs to win the league title, albeit still the early days. Swallows next face Kaitano Tembo’s SuperSport United at the same venue in six days’ time.
