Riekerink Happy With City’s Balance

DSTV Premiership side Cape Town City FC bounced back from a flattening result against Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend after flooring Black Leopards 2-0 yesterday at a hot Thohoyandau Stadium.

City’s head coach Jan-Olde Riekerink tells The Beautiful Game how happy he is with the balance of his team, saying to us;

“Yes that is a good remark, I think that is a good balance and that also a good observation you have there about the movements and yes the players have the technical skills.

“What I’m at least happy about is that we are creating chances because I think in the last games that was a little bit of a problem; we didn’t shoot on the goal or have a lot of the ball.

“Mdu has scored eight goals as a midfield player, and of course Fagrie (Lakay) can play as a striker, he can also play on the right so hopefully Shonga is also hopefully able to play,” concluded the Dutchman.

The result puts the Cityzens in a position to compete for the much-coveted league title, which is accompanied by a cool R15m come May 2021.
