Grobler Walks On Water At SSU, Breaks Record!
Posted: 14 January 2021
DSTV Premiership side SuperSport United won 2-1 against Bloemfontein Celtics yesterday to move into second spot ahead of the much-awaited Pretoria Derby this weekend.
However, the evening belonged to trusted forward Bradley Grobler, who became the club’s all-time record goalscorer, taking it from one of the finest strikers the club has ever had, Abram Fire Raselemane. Upon breaking the long-standing record, Grobler said;
“Yeah it’s an unbelievable feeling. When people mention the fifty seven (57) goals, it seemed so far at the time and now that I equalled it last week and now that I’ve surpassed it, (now has 58 goals), it’s really great. You know as I said in many interviews, the club have done so much for me over the years; they’ve stuck with me through thick and thin, through the injuries.
“So to be honest, this is my way of repaying the club for the faith they’ve shown in me. It’s a great club, it’s a prestigious club so yeah, very honoured to have achieved that,” he concluded.
At 32, and with the type of discipline he has off the pitch, Grobler may well hit a cricket score of a goalscoring record to prove his immortality at the Tshwane side.
