Middendorp: How Moseamedi “Fixed The Country”
Posted: 11 January 2020
Maritzburg United head coach Ernst Middendorp explains the confidence that he has given to striker Judas Moseamedi ever since he arrived at the club two months.
The lanky striker scored two goals against Kaizer Chiefs this weekend, and the German explains to The Beautiful Game the conversation he had with “Warra”, saying;
“(Laughs)…Ja, I can confirm that he likes scoring against (Kaizer) Chiefs, I suffered myself (when he was still the coach of the club). But we had a chat specifically about this game.
“But when I came in on the 26th of November (appointed by Maritzburg United); we had a very short and clear conversation about it that with the quality he has, he must be a starter, he must be a important player. But this is a part from my side to say ‘You are a big player, you are one of the first (names in the line-up), and not coming in as a joker’.
“And he has played each and every single game that I’ve been here, and he gets better and better. He is one of my true players, not only today but in the past matches and I hope he continues focusing,” concluded the German.
Middendorp will be counting on Moseamedi and co to continue banging in the goals and lifting The Team of Choice out of the relegation zone.
