Mamelodi Sundowns FC Co-Head Coach Rhulani Mokwena opens up on the status of the players ahead of their big clash against Orlando Pirates Football Club this afternoon.

The Brazilians host The Sea Robbers in the capital, with Mokwena saying;

“Yeah the preparations have been going well, we’ve tried to reintegrate some of the players, (we have) much more of a stronger squad to chose from for the next match against Pirates. It’s a difficult time to try and manage the programme because after Jwaneng (the team Sundowns played against in the Champions League Qualifier), we gave the players a couple of days off to enjoy the Christmas break.

“We gave the players a detailed individualized training programmes to try and maintain their physical conditioning and the level of fitness and the players have come back looking in good shape. So now we work on the tactical aspect in relation to Orlando Pirates and our preparation for the next match,” concluded Rhulani.

The much-anticipated affair will take place at the Loftus Versveld Stadium in Hatfield this afternoon, with kickoff pencilled in for 15 H00 on both the national broadcaster and the pay-television bouquet.
