Bucs, Celtic MTN8 Final Preview
Posted: 12 December 2020

The MTN8 Final will draw to a close tonight at around 20:H15 with a mouthwatering humdinger of a fixture between “hosts” Bloemfontein Celtics and Orlando Pirates Football Club.

The two sides last met in the semifinals of this competition back in 2012, with The Sea Robbers sneaking through to the final, courtesy of a Andile Jali goal from twelve meters (spot kick).

KEY PLAYERS: CELTICS

John Maduka will heavily rely on trusted and inspirational skipper Ndumiso Mbena who has showed absolute class, leadership and commitment ever since walking through the doors of Siwelele Park some three years ago. The 33-year-old has been a revelation at that club; scoring goals and making goals almost at will.

Another trump card for Celtics is left-wing back Sifiso Ngobeni, the academy graduate has shown proper maturity beyond his age; bombing down the left side of the pitch and often putting in quality crosses in the opposition box, with his skipper and late runners into the final third benefitting from his precise crosses.

KEY PLAYERS : PIRATES

Orlando Pirates Football Club will surely look to former Bidvest Wits winger Maliele Vincent Pule. The tall, yet technically gifted midfielder carries a bag full of trickery and a highly educated left-foot. Pule has become an all-rounder for Pirates; scoring goals, assisting, tracking back and drifting in the centre of midfield to help the team when under pressure.

The Black Cat, Richard Ofori will have to be at his absolute best to keep out the Celtics frontline this evening. The Ghanaian International is often seen barking orders at the back, displaying leadership qualities, making reflex saves almost at point blank situations, and he will need luck and guile today if Celtics are not to put one, or two over him.

Moses Mabhida Stadium will be hosting the two sides tonight, with kickoff scheduled for 18:H00, and with the grass set to suffer, all the action will be on pay-television and the national broadcaster.
