Usuthu To Compete?
Posted: 5 December 2020
DSTV Premiership side AmaZulu Football Club have been one of the few teams that have had a successful transfer window this season.
Usuthu, as their affectionately known in football circles, were bought by humble businessman Sandile Zungu in the off-season. The Durban-born tycoon has invested heavily into the team, bringing in top-tier talent from all over the country.
Zungu has blown most clubs out of the water with signings of former Kaizer Chiefs legend Siphiwe Tshabalala, Zambian International Augustine Mulenga, nibble-footed Amigo Memela, midfield maestro Xola Ten Ten Mlambo, and often flamboyant winger Phakamani Mshini Mahlambi to name but a few.
The club’s head coach Ayanda Cobra Dlamini will be expected to at least finish in the top five this season and lift one knockout tournament. The proud KZN club are currently sitting on 10th spot with five points, something that “Cobra” would have to change in the next couple of weeks.
