Phiri Reveals His Aspirations
Posted: 3 December 2020
Baroka FC winger Gerard Phiri Junior exclusively speaks to The Beautiful Game in regards to his and the team’s aspirations for the 2020/2021 season.
The often quiet Phiri has had a topsy-turvy start to this campaign but remains in buoyant mood. The Beautiful Game asked the Malawian international of his aspirations for this season, with Phiri saying;
“Yeah I think I want to improve on my goals, and obviously I have to provide assists but I really want to get more goals, that’s really the goal for this season.
When asked about the team’s targets, he said;
“Yeah we want to improve on that, I think we want to be in the top eight now. We are tired of having heart attacks at the end of every season. So I think we will be fighting for the top eight this coming season bro,” concluded Phiri.
Bakgaga’s vice-skipper would first have to force his way back into the team if he wants to improve on last season’s showing, but one wouldn’t bet past that with his educated left-foot and ability to bury dead-ball situations.
