Zinnbauer On His SA Stay
Psosted: 24 November 2020
Orlando Pirates Football Club’s head coach Josef Zinnbauer has opened up to The Beautiful Game on his ten months stay in South Africa.
The German was appointed as The Sea Robbers’ mentor in December of 2019 after the club parted ways with Rhulani Mokwena. Zinnbauer explains to us how he has adjusted to the country, saying;
“Yes, I stay here ten months but four months I was at home (referring to the lockdown – laughs) so I didn’t have much feel of the country or Africa but I speak a lot with my players. The bubble time was difficult for me but I got more information from my players.
“I’m not only a coach, I’m a private guy but I heard South Africa is a top country for living and I was once in Cape Town and it was very nice. I’ve heard about a lot of places and I hope to visit but I work seven days, twenty four hours a week. But after that, I can go to good restaurants and safaris and enjoy your country,” concluded Zinnbauer.
The former Hamburger SV manager has a three-year deal with The Buccaneers and will be hoping to see out his contract at the Orlando Stadium.
