JUST IN: Bafana Blackout

The crucial Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier between Sao Tome and Principe versus South Africa will not be broadcasted this afternoon as we understand.

Bafana, currently sitting on second spot behind Ghana with six points from three outings, will most likely be in a strong position to qualify for the showpiece in Cameroon in 2022 with a win this afternoon.

However, the game will not be televised on the national broadcaster due to Sao Tome seeking millions of rands of broadcasting rights for this encounter

The Confederations of African Football (CAF) has given all broadcasting rights to home teams, and with the Island country having the “home” rights, we understand they have demanded a mammoth fee for game.

With less than two hours left to Kickoff in Port Elizabeth, South African-loving football fans will have to rely on SAFA’s Twitter updates or watch the game online.

The Beautiful Game will bring you the major events as we get them from the Nelson Mandela Stadium.
