Hunt: It’s Overrated

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt says he will not be giving his youngsters too much information as they prepare to face arch rivals Orlando Pirates this weekend.

Academy graduates Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Njabulo Blom have played well under Hunt, but the former Bidvest Wits mentor says he won’t bombard them with information, saying;

“No, no, I won’t say a word to the (young) players, I think that’s overrated, I believe their good enough, doesn’t matter what you say.

“Forget about everybody else, when they need a bit of guidance, sure, if I see they not doing the right things, I’ll guide them.

“But sometimes you need to discover these things yourself a little bit as a player; too much instructions is too much sometimes.

“They are here because their good enough, just put them in a structure, consolidate on one or two things and we try to take them to the next level. Sometimes too much information is not good so let them discover these things on their own,” concluded Hunt.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys make a short drive to neighbours The Buccaneers this weekend in the first leg of the MTN8 semifinals and will be looking for a positive result to take into the second leg at the FNB Stadium next weekend.
