What Next For Hunt?
Posted: 25 October 2020
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt received a rude awakening yesterday after he saw his side beaten 3-0 by a yet-to-gel Mamelodi Sundowns FC at the FNB Stadium on a hot afternoon.
Hunt, a three-time league champion with SuperSport United and once with Bidvest Wits might have sat there last night and thought ‘Where to from here?’
The Phefeni Glamour Boys are yet to receive a response from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after being banned from signing new players for at least two windows and there is a lack of depth in quality at the moment.
Hunt is tactically astute but he needs fresh faces to be able to stamp his authority on the squad, and the longer the ban’s outcome, the longer his frustrations will grow.
In yesterday’s drubbing against Sundowns, bar the opening fifteen minutes, his side already looked a beaten side, technically and tactically looked inferior, pound for pound they were nowhere near The Brazilians in all departments.
The Cape Town-born coach possibly woke up rethinking his strategy for this campaign and looking to improve the players at his disposal for the rest of the season.
