Europe’s Premium Competition Returns
Posted: 20 October 2020
The European Champions League makes its return tonight and dear there are some tasty clashes in the first game of the competition.
Last season’s finalists, Paris Saint-Germain will host Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United, with sparkling names Neymar, Kylian Mpabbe, and Marcus Rashford all expected to dazzle football lovers at the Parc Des Princess in Paris.
Prior to the PSG-United clash, Juventus will travel to Ukraine to face Dinamo Kyiv, who are always tricky, particularly in their backyard at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium.
The Old Lady will make the trip to Kyiv without influential goal-machine Christiano Ronaldo, who is still under quarantine after contracting the CoronaVirus a couple of days ago.
Another match to look forward to is Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, who welcome last season’s Europa League winners Sevilla. This is by no means a forgone conclusion for The Blues, who spent some £250m+ this summer, with Sevilla’s Sergio Rico, Sergio Escudero, Ever Banega, prodigal son Ivan Rakitic, and Suso looking to ensure victory for the Spaniards.
Other interesting fixtures will see Lazio welcome Jadon Sancho’s Borussia Dortmund, while much-fancied FC Barcelona play host to new boys from Hungary, Ferencváros CF this evening.
The full fixtures are as follows;
Zenit St Petersburg vs. Club Brugge
Dynamo Kiev vs. Juventus
RB Leipzig vs. Istanbul Basakbehir
