Kaizer Chiefs owner Kaizer Motaung has confirmed that he has long been looking to bring Gavin Hunt to the club based on his excellent record.

Hunt joined the Phefeni Glamour Boys on a three-year-deal with a further option, making a short drive from the ever-vibrant Braamfontein to Naturena, with Kaizer elated with his latest addition, saying;

“Well first and foremost I don’t know why it took him too long for him to get here, the man has got a very impressive pedigree, and that is why we went for him, and fortunately for us, he was available as a result of the sale of Wits University Football Club.

“So in that regard, we are lucky to have landed a very very successful coach and a good resource for our requirements.

When asked about how the negotiations went, he said;

“The negotiations have been going on very quietly after the release of the previous coach, but everything has been going on very smoothly and we are aware of rumours that we were after a coach from Botswana which were never true,” concluded the inspirational leader, Motaung Senior.

The Cape Town-born Hunt is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the Premier Soccer League and will be hoping to transfer the success he had in the capital and Braamfontein to Phefeni.
