Barker Reveals Stellies Bubble Form
Posted: 7 September 2020
Stellenbosch FC have been one a few clubs in the Biologically Safe Environment (BSE), popularly known as the bubble to pull out results where others struggled.
Stellies played six games in the bubble, winning the first two, drawing three, and losing one in their final match against Orlando Pirates Football Club over the weekend, amassing nine points out of eighteen, with Barker revealing how they performed astronomically well, saying;
“Yeah look I think it’s got to do with our preparation before we arrived into the bubble and our mentality.
“You know I was very big on accepting the situation and being out of our comfort zones, we came with the right mentality and right attitude
“I thought our attitude and mentality both physically and mentally were of a high level. And it does also help when you start with a win in the bubble you know, and we followed it up with another win, so it is easier to handle the bubble if you are playing well and getting points.
“So I think we were well prepared and I said to the players that we must do well in this bubble and I think the boys bought into that idea,” he concluded.
Barker has confirmed the club has already signed new players for the upcoming season and their in talks with Mamelodi Sundowns for on-loan right back Nyiko Mobbie.
