Bayern Quit Havertz Chase!

European giants Bayern Munich have decided to quit the chase of rising superstar Kai Havertz, leaving Chelsea as the front-runners to clinch his signature. The midfielder has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after putting in commanding performances in the last two seasons, particularly in the last campaign. Bayern’s former club President Uli Hoeness confirmed their stance, saying;
“I am sure that, after Leroy Sane, there will be no major transfers this year. That has nothing to do with the quality of Havertz. We all think he is a very, very good player.
“But in the coronavirus period after a transfer of almost €50m, one of €70m, €80m or more I can’t imagine making unless we secure counter-financing through player sales,” he concluded
This has left the Londoners in a very strong position to add the 22-year-old to their ranks, and with Petr Cech having arrived in Germany on Monday lunchtime, it looks inevitable that Havertz will join Frank Lampard’s side this summer.
