Former Orlando Pirates Football Club midfielder Tlou Segolela has advised professional and aspiring footballers in regards to grabbing opportunities they have in the game. Sox was last in the books of home-town club Polokwane City has struggled to find a new club, giving wise words to young players, saying;
“From my side I can simply say they (footballers) must carry on you know. I mean look at CR7 (Christiano Ronaldo) and (Lionel) Messi, they have been doing it year-in-year-out, so it does not have duration (referring to form).
“They shouldn’t be satisfied, they have to keep pushing as long as they have an opportunity. I mean opportunities are rare in football, there is only 2200 professionals in a population of 57 million people? So you can see there is not much platforms so when they get an opportunity, they must use it,” concluded the passionate Segolela.
The now 32-year-old has also confirmed to The Beautiful Game that he has not retired from professional football and still has a couple of more years left in him to play at the highest level in South African football.
