Legwathi Gifts Elderly On Mandela Day!
Posted: 19 July 2020
Former Orlando Pirates Football Club skipper Lucky Legwathi continued the spirit of Nelson Mandela by donating blankets among others to the elderly in his native home town of Pretoria yesterday. Phinda Mzala gave back to his community through his Foundation and was accompanied by his team.
Legwathi, a double treble winner with the Buccaneers, went back to Soshanguve, where he grew up, to donate blankets, heaters and masks to the Boikutsong Old Age Home.
There were plenty of jubilation from the elderly women at the Old Age Home, with recipients showing gratitude and appreciation by dancing, whistling and enjoying themselves alongside the former Pirates skipper.
Legwathi has always been a selfless leader on the pitch, and now continues off it after recently being part of the Red Card Campaign where he and other professional footballers stood up against Gender Based Violence.
