Downs Fans Divided On Rhulani Return
Posted: 9 July 2020
Mamelodi Sundowns supporters have displayed mixed emotions on the return of the “Prodigal Son” Rhulani Mokwena back at the club after three seasons away. The 33-year-old makes a “homecoming” after stints at Orlando Pirates Football Club and Chippa United respectively. However, some Sundowns supporters are unsure of him returning to Chloorkop, with some naysayers saying;
“I’m not going to lie. I’ve got mixed feelings about Rhulani Mokwena’s return to Mamelodi Sundowns FC. A lot of bad things were said since he left and he was enjoying every little bit of it. Let’s hope for the best but it’s going to take me a very long time to forgive him,” one fan said.
While another said:
“Perhaps the return of Rhulani to Sundowns is a sign that we must forgive our exes. I’m just saying, he must help us win the league that one (referring to Mokwena),” a second fan exclaimed.
The general feeling has been that of discontent among supporters with the return of the young tactician and self-proclaimed “Student of the Game.” Mokwena will be hoping to win over the disbelievers and ensure the club pips Kaizer Chiefs to the PSL title.
