ABSA Premiership side Baroka FC made a change to their head coach position after former coach Wedson Nyirende decided to leave the club due to various reasons. The Limpopo side then appointed former Black Leopards and Gor Mahia mentor Dylan Kerr, who confirmed that talks began on Boxing Day between him, his manager and the club.
Kerr, who has been at the helm for four months now, gave us a glimpse of how his time has been thus far in Limpopo, “Uhm, it’s been frustrating, it’s been good, there have been so many emotions when you come into a football club halfway through the season”.
When asked about the club’s Chairman, Khurishi Mphahlele, he said “To be honest, from the outside it looks tough but when you get here and once you know what the Chairman’s vision and ambitions are, there is massive potential here,” he concluded.
The 53-year-old Englishman, who has a track record of playing attacking football that incorporates the skills and strengths of his players, as he did at Lidhoda Duvha and Gor Mahia, will be looking to steer Bakgakga Ba Ga Mphahlele to a more respectable position when the league season resumes. Kerr also confirmed that he and his players are well and are working very hard trying to keep their fitness levels at a high rate.
