The Beautiful Game had a chat with Orlando Pirates’ Number one supporter and fan, Dineo Mokwena, widely regarded and seen as Sotho Nunu wherever her club The Sea Robbers play around the length and breadth of the country. The interview unfolded as follows;

Interviewer; Dumela (Greetings) Sotho, thank you for your time, how are you?

Sotho; (Smiles), Hi, keteng wena okae (I’m well and how are you)? Thank you too for your time!

Interviewer; We’re fine thanks. So, what do you miss the most about football under the current lockdown?

Sotho; Kannete (Really), I miss the vibe at the stadium, you know soccer is everything, soccer is life, without football, life is very, very difficult (voice lowers). I miss my team Orlando Pirates, I miss Orlando Stadium, I miss the players, and I miss everything about my team, and I miss the fans (Sigh).

Interviewer; We truly understand.   Now, there were a lot of talks that your favorite player Thembinkosi Lorch would move to Europe in the January Transfer Window, it didn’t happen, your words to him?

Sotho; All I can say is that there is a time for everything; he must just be patient, and just focus on doing his best for the team. If it is God’s will, it will happen, if it is meant to be, it will happen. He must continue scoring goals and making assists, his time will come.

Interviewer; in closing Sotho, what is your message to all soccer fans around the country?

Sotho; I will say to them that this too shall pass, we must stay in our lane (home), we should sanitize, wash our hands and listen to the President, we will beat this thing.

Interviewer; Sotho, thank you very much for your time, stay safe, stay home and we will see you at the stadium soon!

Sotho; (Deep breath), I hope to be at Orlando Stadium soon and watch Pirates play soccer again. Thank you very much guys, thank you and sanitize!
